TURKEY DAY GAME AND PARTIES KEEP HOLIDAYS BUSY

Another six weeks is over

And Turkey Day is past,

The last month on our calendar

Has arrived at last!

Welcome good old December

Oh, holidays get here fast!

Travelers

The weekend of the 18th and 19th many Central students took trips.

Helen Jones had a great time in Russellville visiting Danny Adcock.

This same weekend some of the Gold Jackets, the varsity cheerleaders, a few reserves, along with some more girls journeyed to Bessemer, Alabama, for the game. Fun was had by all. As was expected, quite a few interesting things happened. Ask Dewana Price and Judy Denton what happened at the railway station. After the game we ran into Mary Fleming and Doug Francisco, Gwen Pounders and Bruce Fullerton, Gwynne McGee and Hammond Satterfield, Nancy Hill and Leroy Danner, and Beverly Sanford and Frank Plegge at the dance.

Calvin Moore, Jimmy Martin and a few other boys looked on as they were stags. Wonder why? By the way, Calvin called Ellen Hawbecker around 11:00 and disturbed her bunking party.

Some girls there were: Nancy Neatherly, Susan Hamilton, Rosemary Millwee, Betty Ann Sheton, Gayle Burke and Glenda Fleming. Back to Bessemer! John Phipps and Louis Calderera had cars up there and spent a lot of their time hauling people around.

Elizabeth Porter spent Thanksgiving in Dallas with relatives and friends. Jane Annis Nicol was in Walnut Ridge where she had a great time. Mary Lynn Bogart, former student at LRCHS, traveled up from Forest City and stayed with Joni Roberts.

Parties

The Madamoiselle twerp party turned out real well. The boys really enjoyed not footing the bill, and most of them took advantage of the opportunity.

Seen there were Jane Huggins and Crane Walker, Lynn Custer and Ronny Bass, Margaret Baker and Pat Studer, Dianne Perrier and Ralph Wiggins, Carol Ellington and Buddy Milligan, Dee Anna Guinn and Bill Harmon, Sharon Douglass and Fred Morgan and Ann Criner and Don Crowder.

Sylvia Campbell, Jimmy Woods, Corinne Cheshire, Bobby Brant, Kathryn Mehaffy and Billy Moore were out at Leon's later.

Those who were together Thanksgiving Day or Night were Linda Bragg and Troy Green, Connie Ellis and George Edwards, Gail Bosson and Mike Kelly and Barbara Barnes and Tommy Carter.

Julie Ann Hamilton was really glad to see Buddy Warmouth during the holidays. The same could be applied to Charlene Grady and Keith Glenn, Nancisue Irby and George Johnson and Patsy Tabor and Don Holeman.

Jackie Elliot, Jimmy Diffee, Linda McGrew, Don Ragon, Jackie Dickens, Bob Armstrong, Kay Holloway and Joe Day all took in the Gold Jacket dance November 25.

Odds 'N Ends

Wouldn't it have been fun to stow away on the plane that took Peggy Hamm to the Army-Navy game? I know she had a ball! Carol Tucker is certainly having a time getting "Mumbles" to have his picture made. John Choate sure was anxious to find some Mickey Mouse hats. Wonder what it could be that he's thinking about doing on the senior assembly. Does anyone know whether Dale Briggs will ever take another girl duck hunting after last Sunday morning?

Amazing how many of these "couples" in high school (and before!) actually married and many are still married today: Gwynne McGee and Hammond Satterfield, Calvin Moore and Ellen Hawbecker (both deceased), Lynn Custer and Ronny Bass, Julie Ann Hamilton and Buddy Warmouth, Linda McGrew and Don Ragon, Kay Holloway and Joe Day, Helen Jones and Danny Adcock. And sad how many mentioned above have passed away. Be thankful for every day.

WHAT WONDERFUL DAYS!!!!
