Yes that is the old jail on the right. I remember when it was moved there was an egg in the middle of a plate with circles around it showing that it was not disturbed during the entire moment of the building which was quite a distance from the Eastside down to the river. I worked two years for the flamboyant Pulaski county judge Arch Campbell (he painted all the county road equipment purple so everyone would know they were out there on the job) in the middle 60s at the old county hospital at 3001 W. Roosevelt Road, across from the Razorback drive-in . It was an indigent old folks home segregated by color and sex. We externs, three of us, did physicals on all the new arriving patients and signed them out when they were dead; Took care of them medically in the interim. Many were just chronically ill and had no place to go otherwise .Pay was $40 a month plus room, maid service And the best food you ever ate coming from the county farm prepared by three black ladies who treated us like family. Amazing. Our family was a regular customer of Big Rock Stone and Material, so we knew them well. My father poured all the concrete around our house; patio, sidewalk, walls etc. and frequently we had the Big Rock trucks in our yard for the new concrete; their symbol was an elephant pushing a rock which was emblazoned on all their trucks. These trucks were so heavy they dented the lawn with deep tracks where they pulled in. More history when I can remember it.

OK, ML - you know as well as I do that “OLD PEOPLE AND OLD TIGERS RULE” !! Now that’s what's weird ……

Gary Frederick

And speaking of Gary, like so many, he is moving to be nearer his children. He will be moving to Longview, TX.

Effective September 10 I am moving into a retirement community in Longview, Texas to make life more convenient for Robert and Jamie and for myself.

Please change my address in your address book or in your contact list to:

Gary Frederick

Arabella of Longview

1133 East Hawkins Parkway, Apt. 236

Longview, Texas 75605

My e-mail address and phone number are not changing. They remain as currently listed. Please address any written correspondence to me that will not

likely arrive before September 10 to my new Longview address. I will be in a clean, well-managed independent living facility with all of the usual amenities;

and, hopefully, I will be able to find at least one other Razorback fan in the complex.

Looks like a broken ankle is going to prevent Ann Vines from attending the Reunion. We'll miss you, Ann!
