Sandra Le McEwen Keeton

Sandra Le Keeton, a cherished soul with a beautiful spirit, transitioned from this world to her Heavenly home on March 12, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on July 13, 1938, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was the daughter of LeRoy and Edris McEwen.  She was married to James Edward Keeton of Russellville, Arkansas, where they built a home together and worked alongside each other in their professional lives.  An alumna of Little Rock Central High School, Sandra graduated in 1956. She remained active with her fellow classmates and enjoyed attending all reunion events.  A former Board Member of the Russellville Country Club and past Vice Chairman and House member of the Russellville Country Club, Sandra was an enthusiastic golfer and bridge player.  She was a devoted Arkansas Razorbacks fan and especially enjoyed watching the basketball team. She found joy in watching The Voice, Young Sheldon, and America's Got Talent. She loved to sing songs and listen to music. An enthusiastic storyteller, she enriched the lives of everyone around her. She was a dedicated member of Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas, regularly attending Sunday school, worship services, and women's Bible study.  Sandra had a deep love for animals and cherished the love she shared with all of her fur babies.  Sandra had a passion for God and was the cornerstone of faith for her family, whom she loved with every ounce of her being. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. She is survived and remembered by her son, Stuart Skiles, daughter Shanon Neumeier, stepson Jeff Keeton (Cathy), and grandchildren: Ashley Neumeier, Jacque Skiles, Jordan Neumeier, Jacob Skiles, Spencer Keeton, Seth Keeton, and Tiffany Burnett. While her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were touched by her faith, kindness, wisdom, and grace.  Preceded in death by her husband James Keeton, parents LeRoy and Edris McEwen, sister Rebecca Furcolow, four brothers Eddie, Farrell, Larry, and Eric McEwen, and an infant son Thomas Steven Skiles, Sandra's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Arkansas Hospice or the University of Arkansas Cancer Research Center, both causes close to Sandra’s heart.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Smith Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy 107) with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Linker Connerly Cemetery in Dover, Arkansas.
