HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAROL GRIFFENHAGEN!!!! AND HERE'S WISHES FOR MANY MORE!

I am really enjoying the Throw Back Thursday emails. I really liked the picture of the LRJC group as I was a part of that group.

Although I am a LRCHS class of 1955 member i had many friends in the class of 1956 and would love to hear from anyone

that remembers me. My email is gchambers36@bellsouth.net.

Great to see “Birthdays”  as opposed to” Obits”…….but I do appreciate all your hard work etc.

 Happy Thanksgiving to you !!

Jimmy Martin                                            AND TO YOU AND PAT, JIMMY!  ML

We are having the Thanksgiving here with  two of the grandchildren and their families, plus their mother and her

husband.  Lisa will be doing all of the cooking with the exception of cornbread dressing  which Ken requested that

I make along with a raspberry jello salad that tastes a lot like cranberry sauce which he loves.

We will probably have a simple Christmas dinner since all the kids have so many families to visit at that time.

Friends of David Guthridge -

I received an email from Pat Keebey ('55) asking about his friend from our Class, David Guthridge, who

passed away in 2000. If any of you were his friend and know some history, please pass it along or let me

know and I will give you Pat's email address so you can email directly with him.

Barbara Welton McDonald let us know about a book written by East Side Junior High classmate Ruth Byrn,

who has published her first novel, Fourth and Victory. Well, she just learned from the author, Ruth, that the baby on

the left side of the cover is our Classmate JUDY ELLEN DENTON! Judy and her parents lived iin Ruth's

grandmother's boarding house. That picture is in last week's Throw Back Thursday.

A "funny" from Bob deBin:

Most seniors never get enough exercise. In His wisdom, God decreed that seniors become forgetful so they would have to search for their glasses, keys, and other things, thus doing more walking. And God looked down and saw that it was good.

Then God saw there was another need. In His wisdom He made seniors lose coordination so they would drop things, requiring them to bend, reach, and stretch. And God looked down and saw that it was good.

Then God considered the function of bladders and decided seniors would have additional calls of nature, requiring more trips to the bathroom, thus providing more exercise. God looked down and saw that it was good.

So if you find, as you age, you are getting up and down more, remember it's God's will. It is all in your best interest even though you mutter under your breath.
