2021.01.15 Union Train Station

Union Station in Little Rock is also known as Mopac (Missouri Pacific) Station and was constructed in its present form in 1921.

The original 1872-73 station was demolished in 1907 to make way for the 1907 brick and stone building that burned in 1920.

Union Station was designed in the Renaissance Revival style by architect E. M. Tucker of St. Louis who also designed railroad depots and stations in Prescott, Malvern, Lake Village and Texarkana. Tucker also designed the MoPac Hospital in Little Rock which was demolished along with the Riverside Neighborhood to make way for Dillard's headquarters. Truly one of our grand structures, it is still a functioning train station though most of the building serves as office and event purposes

COVID REFERENCES:

Little Rock Metro Classmates: UAMS is starting giving vaccines next Monday, January 18.

To make an appointment, call 526-1000. It's not a long wait, or it wasn't for me.

They will make you an appointment for the first shot and for the booster. The shots are given at the Freeway Medical Towers.

Pete Hornibrook tells me if you are diabetic or have any other medical diagnosis that puts you in a high-risk group, plus especially if you have tested positive for COVID. think about going to Baptist or St. Vincent out-patient clinic to get a one-hour Antibody Infusion. He says it really helps.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE - STAY SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
