2021.08.02 Reunion News

Your Reunion Committee has been hearing from several of you and many of us have been worrying about the Covid surge as it particularly affects Arkansas. If anyone enjoys these Reunions more than your Committee, I don't know who they are. So the long and short of it is that we are postponing our 65th Reunion until next September when we will plan on getting together for our 66th Reunion!!!! We were particularly concerned about our classmates who would be traveling to Little Rock. First of all, traveling is hard today anyway, but add on top of that our ages AND the numbers of Covid cases out there and the picture doesn't look good. Plus all of us walking around the Hotel for several days trying to visit with a mask on (new rule coming out today from the Hotel) doesn't appeal to me personally.

In addition to the above, as you know the Crowne Plaza has been bought by Marriott. They have had all kinds of problems trying to get to an opening and they are still remodeling, receiving furniture, having air conditioning problems, etc. So that sort of sealed the deal.

Room Reservations

I met with the Hotel this morning and if you have made a reservation, you will be receiving a personal call from them making sure you want to cancel. They were afraid that maybe one or two of you might have been coming for other reasons. I will be sending each one of you a separate email shortly.

Hotel Phone Number - The Same

Those of you who have been trying to call the Hotel with no answer, the phone numbers have NOT changed. However, their phone system has been out of order (one of the many problems they are having right now). The men were there working on it while I was there.

Registration Monies

Several of you who have already contacted me have told me to keep the money they sent and apply it toward our 66th Reunion next year. But if you would like your money returned, please by all means let me know and we will get that done as soon as possible. However, if you signed up for a DIRECTORY, we are still going to publish a new Directory. Therefore, if you want a refund, we will send it minus $20 for the Directory. I hope to have the Directory published by the first of September.

I know this is a disappointment for all of us, however, let's start looking forward to September 2022 and another fun Reunion!!!!
