2021.08.05 THROW BACK THURSDAY - REUNION POSTPONED

I am resending my email from last Thursday. Just want to make SURE that everyone receives this email.

I've already heard from several of you, but don't want to miss anyone.

"Your Reunion Committee has been hearing from several of you and many of us have been worryingabout the Covid surge as it particularly affects Arkansas. If anyone enjoys these Reunions more thanyour Committee, I don't know who they are. So the long and short of it is that we are postponing our65th Reunion until next September when we will plan on getting together for our 66th Reunion!!!! Wewere particularly concerned about our classmates who would be traveling to Little Rock. First of all,traveling is hard today anyway, but add on top of that our ages AND the numbers of Covid cases outthere and the picture doesn't look good. Plus all of us walking around the Hotel for several days tryingto visit with a mask on (new rule coming out today from the Hotel) doesn't appeal to me personally.

In addition to the above, as you know the Crowne Plaza has been bought by Marriott. They have hadall kinds of problems trying to get to an opening and they are still remodeling, receiving furniture, havingair conditioning problems, etc. So that sort of sealed the deal.

Room ReservationsI met with the Hotel this morning and if you have made a reservation, you will be receiving a personal call from them making sure you want to cancel. They were afraid that maybe one or two of you mighthave been coming for other reasons. I will be sending each one of you a separate email shortly.
Hotel Phone Number - The SameThose of you who have been trying to call the Hotel with no answer, the phone numbers have NOT changed.
However, their phone system has been out of order (one of the many problems they are having right now).The men were there working on it while I was there.
Registration MoniesSeveral of you who have already contacted me have told me to keep the money they sent and apply it
toward our 66th Reunion next year. But if you would like your money returned, please by all meanslet me know and we will get that done as soon as possible. However, if you signed up for a DIRECTORY,we are still going to publish a new Directory. Therefore, if you want a refund, we will send it minus$20 for the Directory. I hope to have the Directory published by the first of September.
I know this is a disappointment for all of us, however, let's start looking forward to September 2022 and
another fun Reunion!!!!

CLASS NEWS
Jo Lynn Hill and John are in town (Little Rock). They are getting ready to list her Mother's house for sale.They have been super busy giving, throwing, donating everything and anything to get the house ready toshow. This may be a first. THEY HAVE BEEN BLACKBALLED BY THE LITTLE ROCK GOODWILLSTORES. They were told they could not accept anything else from them. Well, she did try to give thema large garage bag full of coat hangars which they declined. If anyone needs some, let her know!!!!Oh, and by the way, she and John are about to celebrate their 64th Wedding Anniversary!!! Congrats!!!!
Carol Ann Dick has been keeping a secret. She had surgery June 12, but is doing well now.
