THROW BACK THURSDAY - DIZZY DEAN  PLUS CLASS NEWS

ARKANSAS BORN:

Dizzy Dean , Arkansas--Born on January 16, 1910 in Lucas, Ark., Dean attended public school only through second grade. 

His colorful personality and eccentric behavior earned him the nickname "Dizzy". He made his professional debut in 1930 

and worked his way up to the major leagues that same year, throwing a complete game three-hitter for the Cardinals.

William E Moore of Little Rock, AR

January 1, 1939 - May 10, 2024  

William E. Moore, 85, of Little Rock passed away May 10, 2024. He was born on January 1, 1939, in Little Rock, the son of 

Dr. Robert B. Moore and Lena Belle (Barber) Moore. He was a 1956 graduate of Little Rock Central High School. His extensive 

education included degrees from Baylor University, Princeton Theological Seminary, the University of Oregon, and the University 

of Michigan where he earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree.  For many years he resided in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he was

a senior staff member of the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching at the University of Michigan. He retired from the 

university and moved back to Little Rock, where in recent years he had taught part-time in the Adventures in Learning program 

(Great Books Course) of LifeQuest of Arkansas.   He is survived by his son, Michael A. Moore; his brother, Robert B. Moore

(Norma); his sister, Ann Cromwell; as well as several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place, a family graveside will 

be held at a later date. Arrangements by Roller Chenal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to LifeQuest 

of Arkansas or a charity of your choice.




Cil Autry is finally on her way home with her daughter after being hospitalized in Little Rock.  




Dan Stowers is improving and has been moved to rehab.




Ronnie Smith loved the birthday card that everyone signed.  Go by and see him at Briarwood Nursing Center on Shackelford.




Be sure and mark Monday, June 17, 2024.  That's the evening that Betty Chandler will be inducted

into the Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame.  I will send the information for attending in a separate email.

I hope many of you will come to see our very own Betty receive this very prestigious award!
