Dorothy Inez Talbert Hathaway

Dorothy Inez Hathaway, 79, of Fort Smith passed from this life Saturday October 27, 2018 in Fort Smith. She was born November 13, 1938, in Little Rock, to the late Walter and Bertha Sorrels Talbert. Dorothy retired from the Boy Scouts of America after 26 years of service as Office Manager. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church for 50 years where she served in the Children’s ministry, the Music ministry and was a member of the WMU.

Dorothy is survived by two sons and their wives, Steven and Zoe Hathaway, and Scott and Shelia Hathaway, all of Fort Smith; her grandchildren, Bradley Hathaway of Nashville, Tennessee, Korey Hathaway of Alma, Kara and Kaitlyn Hathaway, Brittney Skurdahl, all of Fort Smith and Ashley Meinert of Mulberry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edward and Lawrence Talbert; as well as her sister, Melvadeen Friday.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday November 1, 2018 at Grand Avenue Baptist Church, with burial following at Oak Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm Wednesday October 31, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Home.

Our sympathy to the family of BILLIE FAYE LYLE

Billie Faye Lyle, 82, of Little Rock passed away July 1, 2021. She was born September 3, 1938 in Little Rock

to William and Polly Lyle. Billie Faye was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed

spending time with her family. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and loved her

church family. She enjoyed going out to eat, shopping and watching Dr. Phil. Billie Faye also loved her two

weenie dogs, Krissy and Lucy. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Renee Schafer (Sam) and

Sherri Mitchell (Wes); grandchildren: Aaron Richardson, Zane Schafer, Ashley Turley, Garret Turley, Abbi

Turley and Addison Turley; great grandchildren: Chandler and Noah Antoun; and one sister, Barbara Adams

(Charles). She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tommy Lyle and sister Sharon Collins.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Pinecrest Memorial Park with

Chris Floyd officiating.

Carmelita F. Lopez, 82, of Springfield, Ill., died at 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at the Arbors at Centennial Pointe.
She was born on August 26, 1938, in Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of Carl O. and Ruth (Chilton) McConnell.
Carmelita attended Little Rock Central High School and often spoke about her fond memories of growing up in Little Rock and playing

in a woman's competitive softball league. She moved to Springfield in 1991, where she began working at Memorial Medical Center. 

She later retired from Memorial's Foundation Department in 2005. Carmelita enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and especially 

spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her children, Robert (April) Lemmer of Mission Viejo, Calif., Jana Wells of Springfield, Ill., Jay Lopez of Mesa, Ariz., 

and Rebecca (Mark) Puclik of Springfield, Ill.; three grandchildren, Mike (Tian) Wells, Sarah (Rob) Fafoglia, and Katlyn (Kyle) Puclik-Baker; 

five great-grandchildren; three siblings, Sue (Gary) Jones, Jerry (Diane) McConnell, and Jimmy (Linda) McConnell; and several nieces 

and nephews.
Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carmelita's memory may be made to the Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield, Iii., 62702.
